It is true in the Quran Men are given double the properties than women but this is not the end of the story we have to know the context of Islam wholly just by quoting this kind of verses are not enough to conceptualize the Islamic ideology. Women are given more freedom than men Likewise:::
1. Women are exempted from the responsibilities to bear the expenses for the family.
2. Daughter needs not to bear the expenses from her earnings to maintain her parent.
3. Wife needs not to bear the expense from her earnings no matter she is a multi millionaire.
4. Sister needs not to bear the expenses from her property for her brothers.
Islam has given women this exemption suggests women are free from taking any burden to be the bread winner. But she will get property from her father, husband, son ultimately all her wealth will remain as savings and the accumulation of her wealth may some times more than any man.
Moreover in the Quran Allah qualified Women as the same status with men.
1.and from it created its mate, and from the pair of tnein scattered abroad many men and women.... (4:1)
2.O mankind! We have created you male and female and appointed you races and tribes, that you may know one another. Surely the noblest among you in the sight of God is the most God-fearing of you.... (49:13)
I waste not the labour of any that labours among you, be you male or female— the one of you is from the other.... (3:195)
3. And the believers, the men and the women, are friends one of the other; they bid to honor and forbid dishonor; they perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and they obey God and His Messenger. Those upon them God will have mercy.... (9:71)
4. And We have charged man concerning his parents— his mother bore him in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning was in two years— be thankful to Me and to your parents.... (31:14)
5. To the men a share of what parents and kinsmen leave and to the women a share of what parents and kinsmen leave.... (4:7)
The women are given thrice the more dignity than men
a) The women have rights similar to the rights against them, according to what is equitable." [Qur'an 2:228]
b) The Holy Prophet is reported to have said : "A woman is the queen of her house." The Holy Quran describes the position of the wife in a beautiful verse, "He created for you mates from among yourselves that you might find solace in them and he ordained between you love and mercy," [Qur'an 30:21]
c)The Prophet said: "The most perfect of believers in faith is the best of them in morals and the best of you are those who are kindest to your wives." In his famous Address at the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Prophet again laid stress on the good treatment on womenfolk. He said: "O my people, you have certain rights over your wives and so have your wives over you .... they are Allah's trust in your hand. See that you treat them with all kindness."
d)It is reported that when the Prophet was questioned by a disciple as to who after God and his Prophet should be revered most, the Prophet said "Your mother." When questioned "Who, after the mother?" The Prophet said "Your mother." He was again asked "And, then, who after the mother? " He again replied: "Your mother". The man put the question for the fourth time and the Prophet then answered: "Your father." This Tradition shows that the position of the mother in the eyes of her sons and daughters should be three times higher than that of the father.
e) Never will I waste the work of a worker among you, whether male or female. You are members, one of another."[Qur'an 3:195]

“Heaven lies under the mother’s feet”
This cocept in Islam dignified women more than anything.
Women are the mother of the humanbeing . Mother is the only essential person to buld us. All the scholars of thos world were the product of their mother. For argument some may say father has the equl role to womb child but allah examlified no with out father the great Jesus could come to the world.
Now according to the western was of thinking we are some times misguided. What they want to propagate in the name of equality. Equality is a catchy word but the west failed to give its distinction they made here hotch potch. They confused equality with infirmity. Yes women must be treated as equal but they are not uniform or exactly the same as men. Even two own brothers cannot be uniform. This identical crsis prevailing all over the west. Islam treats women as equal to men but not uniform.
Two students A and B got equal numbers in the exam. But A has got 90 marks i.e. more numbers in physics than B who got 70 but B got 90 marks whereas A got 70 . So result both got 160 number each but in faculty wise one got more and the other got lesses. Same like the men and women in some cases men are given more responsibility in some cases women are given more responsibilities but in conclusion both are equal.

Yes, you hv elaborated on quite valid points. I agree uniformity and equality are not identical but it is tried to make them identical in order to provide practical meaning to many Western notion of concepts. In order to play with fear psychosis first you need to create a "demon". In order to cash ur theory of faulty equality first to need to propagate an unequal and hence patriarchal society. Islam is not a utopian faith but it tries to cater to our needs but in specific ways. This specifity, either in lack of understanding or because of unholy motives, is intentionally given a devilish propaganda so that civilization mission continues to be white man's burden, haha.
Dear writer of the post I feel the last section here you have written in a hurry because you are otherwise very elaborate on such issues. You have made a few valid and interesting points and we need to discuss more. Well done for your efforts. May Allah bless you abundantly, now and always, Ameen ya rabbul alemeen.
