Islam is not stagnant neither the west is purely secular

If the fundamental pillar of any faith is ruthlessly struck, everyone has the right to condemn such moves. In The Oslo Declaration on Freedom of Religion or Belief (August 15, 1998) this right is protected Now a days many so called modern people are not interested in mixing religion with politics. For them my simple question did Theodore Roosevelt, even Thomas Jefferson, made some mistakes. Roosevelt said, My great joy and glory is that, in occupying an exalted position in the nation, I am enabled to preach the practical moralities of the Bible to my fellow-countrymen and to hold up Christ as the hope and Saviour of the world (Americas God and Country, by William J. Federer, 1998). Thomas Jefferson said, Had the doctrines of Jesus been preached always as pure as they came from his lips, the whole civilised world would now have been Christian (Letter to Benjamin Waterhouse, June 26, 1822). Many of us tends to talk highly on western secularism I invite them to look at the flags of Norway, Switzerland, the UK, Australia, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and even Israel. I think these countries are some of the most advanced countries in the world. But why do these countries have the cross imprinted on their national flags? . Why does the USA have imprinted In God we trust on its dollar? Actually they are confused in understand Islam and always amalgamate with the other religions. Islam is not a simple religion as other religions are. Islam doesnt say, Give unto God what is Gods and give unto Caeser what is Caesers. Islam has not become a symbol of a stagnant faith. It is the western propaganda against Islam. Unfortunately for decades in America there has been a cultural war against the Arabs and Islam: appalling racist caricatures of Arabs and Muslims suggest that they are all either terrorists or sheikhs, and that the region is a large arid slum, fit only for profit or war, (Culture and Imperialism; Edward Said, pg.364).West blames that Islam has become a symbol of a stagnant faith, not ready to change with the passage of time. May I draw their kind attention to a Washington Post report, where it was reported that Hispanics, the countrys fastest-growing ethnic group, are finding new faith in Islam, the nations fastest-growing religion ( By Chris L. Jenkins; Washington Post Staff Writer, Sunday, January 7, 2001; Page C01.), or to CNN where there was such a headline as, Fast-growing Islam winning converts in Western world, (April 14, 1997, web posted at: 11:41 p.m. EDT (0341 GMT), www.cnn.com)? If Islam has stagnated, then why are these people embracing Islam? If the word infidels is reactionary then what is the word crusade, the first word used by George W. Bush to justify his war? They vilify Islam by saying that Islam is not ready to change with the passage of time. Let me quote, no change will you find in the practice (approved) of Allah(48:23).

Change? What is the meaning of change? Keep fluctuating is also a kind of change in position but is it desirable? What is that for which you want a change? Change to have freedom to gamble and change to accept objectification of women by providing them with a lollypop in name of women empowerment? What is that empowerment which relates Intelligence of women to length of clothes she wears? If covered she is oppressed, what an illogical definition of change? Islam gives rights to every class of its population. Why "modernity" runs after change even without analysing what this change is and what for?

A thought provoking piece. Thanks for the share.
